Steve Schwartz, LGPC, NCC

Licensed Graduate Psychotherapist

About Me:

I am dedicated to offering comprehensive mental health and counseling services to children, and adolescents, guiding them through challenging life circumstances and supporting their developmental journey. I understand developmental stages and all that can challenge a child, teen and young adult.

Throughout my tenure in the field, I have had the privilege of working with individuals grappling with a spectrum of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic struggles, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal dynamics within peer and family relationships. My therapeutic approach is firmly rooted in establishing a strong therapeutic alliance with clients, characterized by unconditional positive regard and the provision of a non-judgmental space where individuals can authentically express themselves. Employing evidence-based interventions such as Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution-Focused Therapy, I strive to promote a sense of resilience and empowerment in those I serve; enabling them to recognize their full potential and achieve their therapeutic goals.

Originating from Bucks County, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, I pursued my undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, subsequently obtaining my master’s degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in School Counseling from Holy Family University, also in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to embarking on my journey as a therapist and School Counselor, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in a Special Education classroom, providing dedicated support to students with Autism at a local high school.

Presently, I am credentialed as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland.

Recognizing the challenge inherent in seeking professional help, I am committed to destigmatizing the therapeutic journey. By fostering a team-oriented focus, we can begin addressing and resolving important issues. Through mutual effort, we embark on the path toward achieving a more enriching and fulfilling life. I am here for you and looking forward to our work together.
